Accidents and Injuries

If you have had a recent injury you may be covered by ACC and we may be able to help you with your recovery.

ACC has a no-fault scheme this covers everyone, including visitors, who are injured in an accident in New Zealand. The scheme covers children, beneficiaries, students, if you’re working, unemployed, or retired.

If your injury is covered by ACC the cost of your care will be subsidised at our practice.

Physical Injury

ACC subsidises the cost of chiropractic care if you have had a physical injury.

ACC subsidises chiropractic care for sprain or strain injuries- such as the neck, back, ankle, knee or shoulder sprains.

If you have had a sprain or strain injury we may be able to assist in your recovery. We can handle your ACC claim at the practice for you without a referral from your GP.

Recovery

We are experienced in the management and recovery of spinal sprain and strain injuries to the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. We also see patients with sprain and strain injuries to the hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, elbow wrist and rib cage. If we are unable to assist with your injury recovery we refer out to other health professionals.

What ACC doesn’t cover

Your injury must be due to an accident.

Sometimes injuries aren't caused by an accident. ACC doesn't cover:

  • illness, sickness, or contagious diseases, eg measles

  • stress, hurt feelings or other emotional issues.

  • conditions related to ageing, eg arthritis

  • injuries that happen over time, unless an activity at work is causing it.

  • unexplained back pain that gets worse over time.
