CHIROPRACTIC

Chiropractic is a natural approach to health and well-being. It is based on the knowledge that all your bodily functions are ultimately controlled by your nervous system. The nervous system is the communication network which regulates and coordinates the functions of your entire body. Millions of instructions flow from your brain, down your spinal cord and out to every organ and tissue of your body. Signals are also sent back to the brain in order to ‘sense’ if your body is working correctly. You digest food, heal wounds, fight infections and breathe without having to think about these essential functions.

People often consult a chiropractor for help with the treatment of back pain, neck pain, headaches and migraines, numbness and tingling to name a few problems.

The truth is we can do so much more for your health and wellbeing and in a very gentle comfortable way.

Taking the step and placing trust in a health care provider is something we do not take for granted and so we treat all our practice members with the same care as if they were our family. Your spine protects and houses all the nerves connecting to all areas of your body. If just one aspect is out of alignment, or not moving properly, it can have knock-on effects across your physical and mental wellbeing.

After a thorough discussion of any issues you may be seeking chiropractic care for we will conduct a thorough examination to determine any areas that need attention. From that we will develop a plan to get you headed in the right direction. The most common approaches that we use are chiropractic adjustments which aim to restore better movement to spinal joints and exercise to help improve your strength, mobility and posture. We use a range of techniques matched to your needs. Firmer adjustments are perfect for some people, while lower force adjustments are better suited to others. Adjustments can be done by hand, using hand held instruments or with special adjusting tables.

Techniques:

01 : Manual adjusting is the classic chiropractic technique that most people think of when they think of being adjusted. Manual adjusting is, as the name suggests, more hands on than adjusting with the impulse or the activator. Cavitation or “popping” will typically occur with this style of adjustment. Some people prefer other techniques to improve their spinal health and we are happy to modify our approaches to the individual.

02 : Activator Methods uses a small, hand-held metal instrument that delivers a gentle thrust to spinal joints. The thrust is developed from the rapid release of a compressed spring inside the instrument.

03 : Impulse adjusting technique uses a microprocessor controlled, hand held instrument to give adjustments. The Impulse instrument can give a short series of inputs which aim to restore movement to your spine in a gentle way.

04 : Applied Kinesiology (AK) where specific muscles are tested, not to evaluate muscular strength or power but to evaluate the neural control of muscle function. AK is like a body language system, addressing the structural, chemical, and mental components of health. In communicating with the body, the AK practitioner is able to potentially help identify dysfunction and appropriate treatment.

05 : Webster technique is a specific sacral analysis and adjustment to help facilitate the mother's pelvic alignment and nerve system function. This in turn balances pelvic muscles and ligaments, reduces torsion to the uterus. This may offer a greater potential for optimal foetal positioning.
